Do you know what’s REALLY in your tea bag?

What is the best method to drink tea? I know, single-use tea bags are quick & simple to use, especially while travelling, but did you know that many popular conventional tea brands contain many different kinds of chemicals hidden in their products?⚠️

Whether you use nylon or paper ones, even those labelled "biodegradable plant based/vegan" (bioplastic), you're probably ingesting a lot of microplastics & other harmful substances. (Side note : We do not claim that ALL businesses do it, but this is a result of the production process.)

Tea bag papers may contain hazardous compounds as a result of bleaching. There is evidence to support the claim that these chlorine-based products raise illness risk. These substances, like dioxin, can linger in the body for up to 11 years, according to study. These chlorine-based products have been linked to immune system impairment, endometriosis, congenital impairments, & cognitive, developmental & behavioural issues. PLUS there are studies now showing that microplastics are found in placenta and newborns...it's devestating. Chemicals of some kind are present everywhere, so to protect ourselves + our family, reasonable steps can be done to reduce exposure.

FRIENDLY TEA BAG REPLACEMENTS:💚⬇️

1) A loose-leaf tea is optimal. Purchase a quality pot with a built-in strainer. Glass, clay, ceramic, or stainless steel are preferred. Unlike tea bags, loose-leaf tea is typically not mass produced or industrially processed. This means that is it often tastes fresher & is better quality. Typically, tea bag tea is mass produced overseas in huge quantities & often spends months or even years on the shelf before distribution + consumption.
2) Use a mesh strainer or sieve after opening the tea bags; use what you have!
3) Herbal Tinctures, flower essences & concentrates- drop a few under your tongue or into some water. I usually wildcraft as much as I can, or buy my herbs in bulk if needed & use a kettle or pot to infuse them.

When not in the mood to steep a tea, this is where our Herbal Tinctures coming in handy!

Natural potent plant extracts made with love. We can all enjoy the best of both worlds.🫶🏼🌿
